ARCHES - digital leathercraft pattern pack
Downloadable PDF pattern that includes detailed written instructions on how to make both the mini and full-sized Arches bags. This pattern is intended for the intermediate leatherworker looking to take the leap into making luxury handbags. Jump in and get acquainted with skills such as adding linings to your work, using intermediate layers to create three-dimensional impressions, and making tubular handles - just to name a few.
Materials needed:
1 single shoulder of 4.5-5 oz leather
1 single shoulder of 3 oz leather (for the lining)
A sharp skiving knife
60 in of 0.25 inches leather cord
Burninshing compound (such as tokonole)
Hand Stitching thread
2 Harness Needles
Pricking irons (this pattern is calibrated for 3mm pricking irons, but you could get away with using a different size)
Sandpaper (400 grit)
Small piece of Canvas - for burnishing the edges
To print:
You will need to download Adobe reader (this is free), open the pdf, and print it in “poster” mode and make sure the “cut marks” box is checked. This will print portions of the pattern across multiple 8.5x11 sheets of paper.
